Harrison Perone
Propulsive Landing Team Lead & GNC Lead
Major: Mechanical Engineering, with a mathematics minor
Year: Junior
Interest in AIAA: As soon as I heard there was a club at UConn working with rockets I wanted to join. I was even more excited when I found out they were also trying to land their rockets with propulsion. Since freshman year I’ve been working with simulations and GNC (Guidance Navigation and Control) to figure out what our rocket is capable of doing and what actions it can take to make it to the ground in one piece. It’s been very satisfying to see our rocket hardware make decisions in flight based on decisions I made on the ground. I look forward to leading this wonderful team of engineers and learning more about the work done by all of our subteams.
Fun fact: I enjoy taking pictures of the natural world, especially landscapes, the night sky, and birds.
